Brembo's two social responsibility projects won Community Development (Society) Awards 2017 in Mumbai

Brembo's two social responsibility projects in India were recognized as the best among 50 other projects presented by just as many Italian and Indian companies.

The "House of Smile Brembo-Cesvi" service hub and the support provided to the "I Was a Sari" social enterprise received Community Development (Society) Awards 2017, prizes recognizing corporate initiatives that contribute the most to developing local Indian communities.

"House of Smile Brembo-Cesvi" is a multi-service center that occupies numerous facilities and is managed by a team of specialized operators and volunteers who are fully dedicated to teaching, health education and professional training.

The project's objective is to accompany women and children in need on a path to training and autonomy.

"This recognition gives me a particular sense of satisfaction," said Cristina Bombassei, Brembo Chief CSR Officer, "because it rewards a project that I have strongly believed in and have dedicated a great deal of energy.

I am convinced that this result will stimulate us to work better and do even more to protect and develop the local populations in all of the countries where Brembo operates.
Especially in India where our commitment focuses on continuing the growth of the House of Smile, contributing to making it a veritable Brembo Village in Pimpri, outside of Pune.

Plans are to build a day center for children and youth, as well as a training center for different vocations, including seamstress. It is a space where women and children in need can start on and complete a path to economic and social autonomy in a peaceful environment."

The award was instituted by the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the goal of recognizing companies that over the years have significantly contributed to the growth and strengthening of industrial relationships between India and Italy.

Luca Bottazzi, Brembo Country Manager, was present to receive the award.

Impresa Awards is an annual event that recognizes corporate projects that most successfully promote the development of diverse issues in India, including respect for the environment, innovation and community.
