Brembo as a design experience at Milano Verticale | UNA Esperienze.

During the Milan Design Week 2021, Brembo affirms its passion for style and design, not only in the automotive industry, with a dual installation at the Milano Verticale | UNA Esperienze hotel.

Milano Verticale | UNA Esperienze has been designed by Vudafieri-Saverino Partners and is an interior and exterior design project which aims to go beyond the traditional concept of a “hotel” by creating an area for the city which is not only an urban hotel but also a food & beverage venue, a meeting place for work and business, and a hub of innovative services.

This setting is home to two unique items which are part of Brembo’s brake systems. Soft, sinuous curves harmoniously interact with sudden, clear-cut lines to create forms and objects that have a unique, distinctive design which is nonetheless highly practical and light weight. Brembo has always given shape and meaning to its products which feature outstanding design and constant innovation. When the right materials and forms are used, beauty comes naturally. Brembo is the only components manufacturer to have received the Italian Association for Industrial Design’s Compasso d'Oro award – the oldest and above all, most prestigious world design award – twice.

The two works on display in the hall of the Milano Verticale | UNA Esperienze embrace both the world of cars with the limited edition “Extrema” caliper and the world of motorcycles with the limited edition “copper” motorbike caliper.

The limited edition “Extrema” car caliper

With the “Extrema” caliper, Brembo confirms that it has experimenting with and finding solutions that continue to raise the very high standards of its products in its blood. Superb aesthetics, aggressive lines and improved performance – the result of innovative design – Brembo's "Extrema" caliper has been designed for cars of excellence with a strong sporty vocation. The version on display is accompanied by a special color which Brembo has exclusively presented for the 70 years of Ferrari at St. Moritz for the “Ferrari Tribute".

The limited edition “copper” motorcycle caliper

As a result of Brembo’s research, all the brake calipers are made of cast aluminum that is oxidized in different colors (black, gold, aluminum, titanium). Special care is also paid to the design which helps them give all the motorcycles a look that is highly appealing. For this product, Brembo has decided to use paint in a special shade of copper, a highly refined color which is often associated with a vintage style and synonymous with great elegance.

The search for the best performance and continuous innovation are immovable points in Brembo's philosophy, but aesthetic appeal is also important. However, Brembo knows that when the right materials are combined with a special sensitivity for design and a good dose of intuition, beauty comes naturally, especially if design is not seen as an end in itself but contributes to functionality and performance.
