Brembo Wins M-Hero’s “Fearless Conquest—Iron Face Hero Award”: Realize Freedom of Movement with Precise Control

M-Hero 917, the first model of Dongfeng M-Hero, stands out as a luxury off-road NEV with strong performance in the market of today, and it is also the ultimate experiential product of off-road vehicles in China.

Based on M-Hero 917’s loaded mass of 3.8 tons, 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.2 seconds, a maximum horsepower output of 1088 from four motors, Brembo exclusively designed a brand-new integrated cast aluminum fixed caliper with six pistons for M-Hero 917, and finally determined the color as passionate and warm red.

This fixed caliper is one of the largest and most powerful calipers in China at present, and it is also an ideal choice for high-performance and sporty cars.

Compared with floating calipers, Brembo’s integrated cast aluminum fixed caliper with six pistons has a larger size to carry larger friction plates, thus providing a larger heat dissipation area and better heat dissipation performance.

The calipers are combined with Brembo 400×32mm ventilated brake discs, and equipped with Brembo NAO friction plate with an area of 101cm².

The arrangement of pistons has been optimized accordingly to provide enhanced braking performance and ensure uniform distribution of braking force.

 

Meanwhile, Enesys energy-saving system is a new generation of brake spring technology of Brembo, which is equipped on brake caliper of M-Hero 917 as well. This technology effectively reduces brake drag torque.

The application of Enesys ensures that the brake pad quickly returns to the initial position after the brake pedal is released, thus reducing the unnecessary friction between the brake pad and the brake disc when the vehicle enters the normal driving state, reducing the brake dust caused by residual friction and the vehicle emission, increasing the range of vehicle, and achieving the perfect unity of braking performance and economy.
