BERNIE ECCLESTONE AWARD 2016

 Brembo presents Marco Tronchetti Provera with the ‘Bernie Ecclestone Award 2016’ in the occasion of the Formula One Grand Prix of Italy

In the occasion of the Formula One Italy Grand Prix at the Autodromo di Monza circuit, Alberto Bombassei, Chairman of the Brembo Group, presented the trophy for the 2016 edition of the ‘Bernie Ecclestone Award by Brembo’ to Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli & C. S.p.A. Executive Vice President and Managing Director.


 


The award was assigned with the following motivation:

“To have contributed to the progress of motorsport, strengthening particularly the image of Formula One and promoting its growth worldwide, with prestigious results achieved thanks to remarkable personality and entrepreneurial capability. Brembo is honoured to assign the award for 2016 to Marco Tronchetti Provera, for the outstanding successes obtained in the role of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. Executive Vice President and Managing Director”.

The award ceremony took place in the Hospitality area of Formula One Management, inside the paddock of the Autodromo di Monza track.

Alberto Bombassei, Chairman of the Brembo Group, presented the trophy for the 2016 edition of the ‘Bernie Ecclestone Award by Brembo’ to Marco Tronchetti Provera  

 

The award was established in 2011 by Mr. Bombassei, in agreement with Bernie Ecclestone, with the aim of rewarding - in the specific occasion of the Italian Grand Prix - the personalities of Formula One which, more than others, contributed to strengthening and supporting worldwide the excellence of this sport thanks to their passion and constant commitment to technological innovation, founding values that have always been at the heart of Brembo’s enterprise.

The international prize ‘Bernie Ecclestone Award by Brembo’ was born in 2011 to celebrate the 50° anniversary of the Italian Company. In that occasion, Alberto Bombassei, Brembo Chairman, gave to Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One Management Chairman, a braking system personalized with the colour of the Italian flag.

In 2012 the award was assigned to Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Ferrari Spa Chairman; in 2013 the prize was conferred to Niki Lauda, non-executive Chairman of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team, while in 2014 the prize was assigned to Sir Frank Williams, Founder and Team Principal of Williams F1 team.

The delivery of the 2015 edition of the prize, assigned to Jean Todt, President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, will take place in private by the end of this year.
