In recent days, an alarm was raised by the Swiss website "Iqair" which sparked much discussion, stating that on Sunday, February 18, the Lombardy capital was on the podium for the world's most polluted cities, with only Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Lahore, Pakistan, ranking higher. According to the Swiss website, the concentration of the finest particulate matter released in the air (PM2.5) in Milan was 29.7 times the annual air quality guideline value indicated by the WHO (World Health Organization). The situation does not improve when analyzing the regional site ARPA, an official site, which confirms the situation.
According to ARPA, the fixed station of Milan Pascal Città Studi recorded a daily average PM10 value more than double the limit (which is 50 micrograms per cubic meter): at an alarming 102. Regardless of the accuracy of the Swiss website's data, the issue still remains significant at a global level.
The public debate immediately ignited around the themes of sustainable mobility and possible solutions to reduce environmental impact, with some public administrations even considering very drastic solutions such as traffic blockades or bans on highly polluting vehicles. However, there is a solution capable of effectively contributing to the reduction of PM10 and PM2.5 without resorting to drastic measures.
This solution is Brembo’s Greenance Kit, consisting of discs and pads developed to ensure, a reduced environmental impact, with a significant reduction in emissions compared to traditional aftermarket discs and pads: - 83% PM10 and - 80% PM2.5. This solution has already passed ECE-R90 approval tests and the most stringent reference road tests, conducted by the company's technicians, according to Brembo's strict requirements.
