Only Brembo reins in Floyd Mayweather

10/2/2015

The unbeatable American boxer is an avid collector of Supercars with Brembo braking systems

Floyd Mayweather is the richest athlete in the world and he just tied Rocky Marciano’s historic record of 49 victories in 49 matches. However, his name draws a line among fans because many refer to the world championship belts won in the five weight categories, while just as many tend to play that down, claiming that being consistently unbeatable in the Heavyweight category is a different story.

Regardless, nobody can question the fact that Mayweather is the greatest cash machine in the world of sports. Last year, he made 300 million dollars and the previous year he ‘only’ brought in 105 million dollars. It is estimated that in his 20-year career, he has earned more than a billion dollars.

So, it appears that nobody can stop Mayweather from pushing forward. Nobody, except for Brembo. That’s because the undefeated champion has a propensity for Supercars, and Supercars, as surely you already know, have a propensity for Brembo brakes.

His boxing style is flexible, which allows him to adapt perfectly to the characteristics of who he has in front of him, and he always reacts in a rapid and precise manner.

These same characteristics distinguish Brembo braking systems as well, which Mayweather collects indirectly.

The latest supercar that entered his collection a few months ago is the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita, which cost him 4.8 million dollars.

This over-the-top Swedish  sports car boasts an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed that exceeds 410 km/h.

The braking system on the CCXR Trevita is also top-notch: from 100 to 0 km/h in just 32 metres.

The merit goes to the front brakes comprised of 380 mm-diameter ventilated ceramic discs with 8-piston light alloy Brembo monoblock calipers.

Only three exemplary models were produced and one has belonged to Mayweather for a few months now, he drove it to training.

Mayweather is also passionate about Ferrari, as is evident by the two 458s and the 599 GTB Fiorano in his garage.

The boxer also owns at least a pair of Lamborghini, the Aventador LP 700-4 and the Murcielago, a Porsche 911 Turbo S, a Bentley Mulsanne and several Mercedes, all of which are equipped with Brembo braking systems.

With Brembo,  you’ve always got the upper hand.
