Four weeks ago, a 12-hour car race was held at MotorLand. Therefore, grip might not be optimal for the Superbikes on Friday.
GP data
According to Brembo engineers who work closely with 13 of the 14 teams in the Superbike World Championship, the 5.077 km long MotorLand Aragón falls into the category of highly demanding circuits for brakes. On a scale from 1 to 5, it has earned a difficulty index of 4 because riders use the brakes 11 times per lap for over 29 seconds. Four braking points are classified as High, including 2 consecutive ones (turns 11 and 12), 5 Medium, and 2 Low. The 12.1 bar pressure that Brembo brake fluid reaches at turn 11 is one of the highest figures in the championship.
The toughest corner at MotorLand Aragón for the braking system is the last one before the finish line: Superbikes go from 317 km/h to 142 km/h in 3.8 seconds, covering 232 meters while riders apply a load of 5.6 kg on the brake lever. The deceleration is 1.5 g, and the Brembo brake fluid pressure reaches 12 bar.
Bulega's three records
Nicolò Bulega's streak continues, with 19 consecutive victories in the Superbike World Championship: the last 4 of 2025 and the 15 races held this season. Exclusively his is also the record for consecutive podium finishes, having reached a total of 28, three more than the previous record. Numerous seasonal records could also be broken by the Ducati rider between now and October: discover them all on Brembo's website, in the article we dedicated to him.
The preferred fluid
In addition to calipers, discs, pads, brake pumps, and clutch pumps, Brembo also supplies almost all Superbike riders with brake fluid. Most opt for HTC64, which is characterized by greater resistance to high ambient temperatures but lower hygroscopicity. The latter term refers to the ability to absorb water (humidity) present in the atmosphere. Only one team occasionally uses LCF 600 fluid, whose dry boiling point is 315°C compared to 335°C for HTC64.
A poor start, but then
This weekend, Ducati could reach 50 podiums at MotorLand: currently, it stands at 47, with Kawasaki at 37, followed by BMW and Yamaha with 12, Aprilia with 10, and Honda with 2. For Bimota, the best result is Alex Lowes' 5th place last year in Race 1. To think that in the first World Superbike race on this track, back in 2011, the first Ducati to cross the finish line came in 11th place. It redeemed itself in Race 2 with Carlos Checa's 3rd place on the 1098R equipped with Brembo braking system.
