GR‑PRO: dominate gravity
A complete system, derived from Brembo’s racing experience and the same one used by the Specialized Gravity downhill team, designed to work in perfect synergy with you and your mountain bike, without compromise.
Main Advantages
The 18 mm 4-piston caliper ensures immediate and progressive braking power, while the 9 mm master cylinder - with its three independent adjustments - allows for always-natural modulation, even in the most technical sections. But it’s the entire system that makes the difference: caliper, master cylinder, discs, and components work in perfect synergy, transforming your every input into a precise and stable response. A system developed on the terrains of the UCI Downhill World Series with the Specialized Gravity Team, to offer maximum control in every situation.
Thanks to the triple adjustment of the lever ratio (soft, medium, hard), the 40 positions to precisely define the lever-to-handlebar distance, and the 7 levels of free stroke, the brake master cylinder adapts with millimetric precision to your driving style. A system designed to always deliver the ideal braking feel, from maximum control to maximum responsiveness, based on your needs.
The two-piece forged caliper, designed for maximum rigidity, works together with 2.3 mm discs featuring an optimized braking surface for heat control, braided metal hoses, and stable-viscosity mineral oil: a system that maintains braking performance and lever feel unchanged, even on the most challenging descents.
The answers to your questions
Brembo brings the same systemic approach to Mountain Biking that it has developed over decades in MotoGP, Formula 1, and off-road competitions. GR‑PRO is not just a collection of components, but a complete braking system designed to work in perfect synergy — caliper, master cylinder, disc, pads, hoses, and mineral oil are developed together to deliver consistency, control, and reliability even in the most extreme conditions.
A system designed for those seeking a real advantage on descents. Whether you're riding an enduro, downhill, or e-mountain bike, we guarantee consistent braking, high resistance to fading, excellent heat management, and the ability to customize the feel thanks to three levels of lever ratio, 40-position reach adjustment, and 7 levels of free stroke. In short: more control, more consistency, more performance.
The consistency of braking. GR‑PRO is designed to deliver the same lever response and power from the start to the end of the descent, even when conditions become more challenging and the system is subjected to significant thermal stress. This results in fade-free braking that remains consistent and predictable, ensuring you get the maximum experience and performance, knowing you can always rely on the system, even in the most critical moments.
The GR-PRO kit includes two brake calipers with pads, two brake master cylinders (right and left), two braided steel hoses, mineral oil, two additional pad kits, the bleeding kit along with small parts. All these products have been designed as a single system to ensure maximum performance. This is the same philosophy that Brembo applies in MotoGP and OEM applications: every element contributes to creating precise feedback, consistent power, and maximum reliability.
The kit does not include brake discs, available in two different diameters of 200mm and 220mm, which are sold separately from the kit.
Thanks to a systemic approach. Thermally optimized materials, high-stiffness calipers, 2.3 mm discs designed to work in harmony with the caliper, pads developed with over 30 rigorously tested compounds. All components work together to better dissipate and manage thermal stress, maintaining consistent performance even on the longest descents and in the most extreme conditions.
The GR‑PRO kit discs are made of 2.3 mm stainless steel, a thickness greater than that of typical MTB discs, designed to improve thermal management and maintain consistent performance even in the most extreme conditions.
Thanks to the 18 mm braking band, designed to optimize heat exchange, the discs can dissipate heat more effectively and prevent overheating during long and demanding descents. This helps reduce fading and ensures consistent braking performance that does not change over time.
The brake discs in the GR‑PRO kit are available in 200 mm and 220 mm diameters, ideal for gravity use and for those seeking maximum control in the most technical and fast sections. The discs are sold separately from the kit.
Yes, the systemic approach has also been extended to brake hoses. Thanks to the stainless steel braid and the PTFE inner core, the hoses in the GR‑PRO kit directly transmit every braking input, ensuring consistent performance even under high pressures and temperatures and prolonged use. Their thermal stability and extremely low expansion—derived from motorcycle racing—ensure a response that is always precise, predictable, and flawless, even on the toughest descents.
Brembo has internally developed a mineral oil to ensure consistently reliable braking performance. Its viscosity remains stable across the entire range of operating temperatures, and its excellent fluidity guarantees a quick, uniform, and predictable response even under intense thermal stress.
The brake pads of the Brembo GR‑PRO system have been specifically designed to work in synergy with the rest of the system. They ensure consistency, control, and efficiency compared to traditional MTB solutions. Thanks to a compound developed entirely by Brembo, they offer a sharper initial bite, stability of the friction coefficient even at high temperatures, and repeatable performance on the longest and most challenging descents. The result: more predictable, modulable, and reliable braking in all conditions.
Brembo GR‑PRO will be available soon at authorized Brembo dealers.
