We live in an era that has accustomed us to the idea of choice as the ultimate measure of freedom. We choose everything, constantly. We compare, we evaluate, we doubt. We are taught that doubt is the engine of knowledge and the foundation of a conscious purchase. From yogurt at the supermarket to which TV series to watch tonight, we are bombarded with the idea that our power lies in selecting option A, B, or even Z. It is the mantra of the market, the fair of competition.

Then, every so often, you stumble upon stories that shatter this narrative. And they do so with the brutal honesty of numbers.
Take German motorcyclists. Not exactly an easily swayed audience. We are talking about people raised on limitless Autobahns and a mechanical culture where, if a bolt isn't tightened to the exact Newton-meter torque, it’s a problem. In short: people who don't settle.

Every year, MOTORRAD magazine—a sort of secular Bible of motorcycling since 1903—asks its highly demanding readers: "Who do you trust?"
In the "Beste Marken 2026" (Best Brands 2026) survey, when asked who makes the best brakes, 85.7% of the nearly 47,000 voters answered, without hesitation: "Brembo."

A Deep Question

This is why, when we read the results, our first reaction isn't celebration, but a question. A profound one.

What does it truly mean when 85.7% of nearly 47,000 motorcyclists—in a market as demanding and technically proficient as Germany—point to our brand as the only reference point for braking?

This isn't a simple preference. A preference is expressed in a hard-fought race, won by a few percentage points. This is something else. It is a majority that doesn't suggest a preference, but rather the absence of a perceived alternative. While there is a battle for tires, exhausts, or suspensions—a real game won by a neck—here, there is no contest. Brembo achieved a level of approval nearly triple that of the runner-up in the brake category. The second-place finisher is so far behind they seem to be playing a different sport. This isn't just leadership; it is a monopoly of trust.

A Geological Constant

What’s even more impressive is that this isn't a one-off fluke. It has been the status quo for a decade. Year after year, the percentage fluctuates between 84% and 89%, like a well-calibrated thermostat. The market evolves, technology accelerates, but the Germans' trust in that red signature remains a geological constant.

We asked ourselves here at Brembo: how do you achieve this? How do you build a bond that not only lasts but strengthens over a decade, consistently exceeding 80% in such a selective market?

The answer cannot lie in the product alone. That’s not enough.

  • The Track: Being the choice of 100% of MotoGP riders means turning the world’s most demanding circuits into our R&D laboratory. Every braking maneuver at the limit is an exam we pass in front of everyone, and that technology doesn't stay confined there; it reaches the road.
  • The Manufacturers: When the world’s greatest motorcycle brands choose our calipers for their flagship models, they are making a statement. They are telling their customers: "On this component, on your safety, we did not seek compromises."

The Psychological Factor

But the true answer, the one we believe explains such a radical result, is different. It lies in understanding that braking is the most intimate and psychological act of riding. It is the gesture that transforms power into control, speed into safety. It’s not just a matter of performance, but of peace of mind.

Perhaps that 85.7% isn't just choosing a braking system. They are choosing not to have to think about it. They are delegating a worry to us, entrusting us with the management of one of the most critical aspects of motorcycling.

Our Commitment

That is why, for us, this number is not a trophy to display. It is a pact. A pact that commits us every day to earning that trust, to innovating not for vanity, but because safety admits no distractions and no second choices.

Your verdict is clear. Our responsibility is equally so. Thank you. We will continue to work so that the act of relying on us remains the safest and most natural choice a motorcyclist can make.
