When the challenge is measured in hundreds of kilometres of dust, rocks and extreme temperatures, braking performance becomes a decisive factor.

For the Can-Am Maverick R competing in Baja Aragón, Brembo has developed the MavR Kit, a complete braking system engineered specifically for Side-by-Side Rally Raid competition. Validated through more than 100,000 km of racing conditions, the system delivers the consistency, durability and control required to tackle some of the toughest off-road events in the world.

Engineered for extreme Rally Raid competition

Rally Raid vehicles face braking demands unlike those of any other motorsport category. Long stages, high speeds, rough terrain and continuous exposure to dust and debris place extraordinary mechanical and thermal stress on every component.

The MavR Kit was developed with a single objective: maintaining consistent braking performance under maximum load. Every component has been engineered and validated directly in competition, ensuring reliability throughout the race, from the opening kilometres to the finish line.

Built to deliver the same braking confidence after 1 kilometre or after 1,000.

Built for the toughest challenges

The braking system combines high-performance ventilated discs with a new-generation racing caliper architecture specifically developed for the demands of Rally Raid competition. Engineered to withstand extreme thermal and mechanical loads, the package delivers consistent braking performance, stable pedal feel and reliable control throughout long and demanding stages.

Brembo's race-developed calipers and discs work together with J.Juan's high-performance hydraulic lines to create a fully integrated braking solution. Developed and validated in real racing conditions, the system is designed to provide the durability, consistency and confidence required to perform under the toughest off-road racing environments.

Designed to go the distance

Durability is one of the defining features of the MavR Kit.
The braking system has been developed to withstand extreme thermal cycles and prolonged exposure to harsh environments while maintaining stable pedal feel and braking efficiency. High wear resistance allows teams to complete multiple events without maintenance interventions, an essential advantage in long-distance competitions such as Dakar and Bajas.

The optimized caliper architecture also enables rapid pad replacement without removing the caliper, reducing service times during assistance operations and simplifying race-time maintenance procedures.

Technical Highlight

The MavR Kit has been developed specifically for Group SSV Rally Raid vehicles, combining ventilated racing discs with a new-generation caliper architecture engineered to withstand the extreme demands of off-road competition. Designed and validated directly in racing environments, the system delivers stable braking performance even when exposed to prolonged high temperatures, rough terrain and extended stages. Increased structural stiffness helps maintain pedal consistency, while optimized heat management supports reliable operation throughout the race.

Serviceability was also a key development objective. The racing caliper design allows teams to replace brake pads quickly without removing the caliper itself, significantly reducing intervention times during assistance operations. Sealed bleeders further simplify servicing procedures, enabling fast and controlled bleeding while improving hydraulic reliability under demanding race conditions.

Long-distance durability is another defining characteristic of the system. Developed through more than 100,000 kilometres of testing and competition, including Baja Aragón, Dakar Rally and Baja Portugal, the MavR Kit has demonstrated the ability to maintain performance over multiple events while minimizing maintenance requirements. This capability is particularly valuable in Rally Raid competition, where reliability can be as decisive as outright speed.

The vehicle is fully homologated for FIA Group SSV competition in accordance with Appendix J Article 286A, providing teams with a braking package that combines regulatory compliance, proven durability and race-developed performance

Built to finish

From Baja Aragón to Dakar, every component of the MavR Kit has been developed where performance matters most: in competition.

Created to withstand the extreme demands of modern Rally Raid racing, the system embodies Brembo's commitment to delivering braking solutions that combine reliability, durability and performance when every kilometre counts.
