Lando Norris emerged as the season’s triumphant champion, having already secured the Formula 3 European title in 2017 with the Carlin team. He finished two points ahead of Max Verstappen, who came close to completing a remarkable comeback, while Oscar Piastri — long-time championship leader — had to settle for the bronze medal.
At the moment, the drivers are enjoying a well‑deserved break, essential to recover both physically and mentally ahead of 2026, another extremely long season featuring 24 Grands Prix compressed into just under ten months.
In the meantime, we have put together around twenty key figures that summarize the year.

For the first time in his career, Lewis Hamilton completed a Formula 1 season without a single podium finish. In the official statistics, Sprint results are not taken into account, meaning that his victory in China and his third place in Miami — both achieved in the Sprint races — do not count.

Every time a caliper returns to Brembo for servicing, it is disassembled and all wear‑prone components are replaced. After reassembly, the quality control department inspects the components using a machine that performs scans with a precision of 0.02 mm.

With his 10 laps in the lead at the Japanese Grand Prix, from lap 22 to lap 31, Kimi Antonelli broke Max Verstappen’s record as the youngest driver ever to lead at least one lap in Formula 1: 18 years, 7 months and 12 days for the Mercedes driver, three days older for the Dutchman.
2
Carlos Sainz, driving for Williams, secured third‑place finishes in Azerbaijan and Qatar. Williams had not achieved at least two podiums in a single season since 2015.
2.9
To decelerate from 295 km/h down to 81 km/h at La Source — the iconic first corner of the Circuit de Spa‑Francorchamps and the opening turn of the Belgian Grand Prix — the drivers used their Brembo brakes for 2.9 seconds.
3
Brembo caliper cooling solutions fall into three main types: some teams use ventilation fins on the outer body, others employ narrower but deeper pillars, while others rely on a cover that encloses the upper section of the caliper.
6
Both the calipers manufactured by Brembo and those from AP Racing — the British company that is part of the Bergamo‑based group — featured six pistons, the maximum allowed by the regulations. They were machined from solid billet, made from an aluminium alloy, and finished with a nickel coating.
10
All 10 teams that competed in the 2025 season used calipers from the Brembo Group, each customized to meet the specific requirements of the individual teams. In addition, Brembo supplied most of the cars with hydraulic components and friction materials.
11
Lando Norris is the 11th British driver to win the Formula 1 World Championship. The first was Mike Hawthorn in 1958. Seven of them have won a single title, while Lewis Hamilton has managed to secure seven.
32
The Brembo carbon discs used in Formula 1 have a maximum thickness of 32 mm. Their diameter ranges from 325 mm to 330 mm at the front, and from 275 mm to 280 mm at the rear.
50
In 2025, Brembo celebrated 50 consecutive years of presence in Formula 1. The streak began in 1975 with a small supply of cast‑iron discs for Scuderia Ferrari.
75
The carbon discs used in Formula 1 are produced starting from rings weighing approximately 75–80 grams, made from rayon, PAN (polyacrylonitrile) or pitch fibres. The fibres are stitched or needled and then subjected to a long process of stabilization, carbonization and densification — with temperatures exceeding 900 °C — before undergoing graphitization.
120
To test the performance of Formula 1 braking systems, Brembo has developed a test bench on which the entire brake system is mounted. In less than one‑tenth of a second, the actuator increases brake pressure from zero to 100 bar — and sometimes up to 120 bar.
143
To set the fastest lap in the closing stages of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Max Verstappen executed an impressive braking manoeuvre at Turn 14, slowing from 350 km/h down to 102 km/h while covering 143 metres — the longest braking distance of the season.
162
At the first chicane of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, to slow from 337 km/h down to 89 km/h in 2.75 seconds, Formula 1 drivers applied a load of 162 kg on the Brembo brake pedal.
280
For a full season, Brembo supplies each team with between 280 and 480 carbon brake pads to be used across the two cars. These pads ensure a broad operating range in terms of both pressure and temperature.
335
The dry boiling point of the Brembo HTC64T brake fluid used by Formula 1 cars in 2025 is 335 °C. This fluid exhibits exceptionally low compressibility above 180 °C.
454
In 2025, Max Verstappen led 454 laps — the highest total of the season — followed by Oscar Piastri with 452. Lando Norris led only 373 laps. Five other drivers also completed at least one lap at the front.”
1100
Starting from 2022, the federation set the minimum diameter of cooling holes in the discs at 3 mm. For many years, Brembo had manufactured 2.5 mm holes, allowing each disc to contain up to 1,470 of them, compared with the current 1,100.
320
To secure pole position at the Canadian Grand Prix, George Russell had to withstand a deceleration of 5.1 g at the penultimate corner, slowing from 320 km/h down to 145 km/h.
