A special pit stop for Francesco Bagnaia, Gigi Dall’Igna (General Manager Ducati Corse), Mauro Grassilli (Sporting Director Ducati Corse), and part of the Borgo Panigale staff.
Before the summer break, the Ducati team paid a visit to Brembo, a historic partner and world leader in braking systems, in a milestone year celebrating 50 years of racing in motorsport.
Welcoming them at the Kilometro Rosso headquarters were, among others, Brembo’s top management: Matteo Tiraboschi (Executive Chairman), Alberto Bombassei (Honorary Chairman), and Mario Almondo (COO Brembo Performance).
Also awaiting them was Bagnaia’s Ducati Desmosedici GP, displayed in front of the new commemorative wall dedicated to 50 years of racing success, featuring the claim “Celebrating 50 years of passion.” The wall showcases the company’s key innovations across top-tier motorsport categories: from Formula 1 to MotoGP, through WEC, WorldSBK, Formula E, MotoE, NASCAR, and WRC.
The visit then continued at Brembo’s Curno facility, the beating heart of the division dedicated to producing braking systems for all major global racing series, including the bespoke solutions developed for the Ducati Lenovo Team MotoGP bikes.
Here, calipers, discs, brake pads, brake and clutch master cylinders, as well as Marchesini wheels come to life, the result of advanced technologies and unparalleled expertise.
At the end of the tour, Pecco Bagnaia greeted the approximately 250 members of the Brembo Performance team:
“Ever since I started racing in MotoGP, I’ve always braked with Brembo, and I finally got to see firsthand how the brakes on my Ducati Desmosedici GP are made: here in Curno there’s a world of innovation, passion, and expertise. (…) The caliper I race with every Sunday starts from a solid block of aluminum (…), a true work of art. What kind of braker do I consider myself? Aggressive. I like to ‘push’ the brakes hard but with finesse. In today’s MotoGP, braking has become crucial on every track of the calendar.”
Echoing the words of the World Champion, Gigi Dall’Igna emphasized the unbreakable bond between Ducati and Brembo:
“We have always worked with a benchmark in excellence, a partner that has become a global reference not only for Ducati but for the entire MotoGP paddock. (…) If Ducati has been winning the World Championship for three consecutive years, it’s also thanks to the technological and human contribution of the people working at Brembo. (…) Feedback on the season? Well, it can only be positive: 10 wins out of 12 races and three Ducati riders currently on the championship podium. Hopefully, we’ll see the same standing come November…”
A day of meeting and celebration that reiterates how behind every victory there is dedication, expertise, and collaborations that make all the difference.
