Brembo 2022 SEMA RECAP

 The Las Vegas Convention Center hosted over 160,000 visitors and 1,800 exhibitors for the 2022 SEMA Show!

​SEMA, the four-day event from November 1st – November 4th hosted over 160,000 members of the automotive trade ranging from exhibitors, builders, influencers, and car enthusiasts worldwide. Brembo had a prominent presence throughout the duration of SEMA. A sizeable upgrade to the booth, increasing to a 30x40ft space, located in the Central Hall (Race and Performance) of the Las Vegas Convention Center maximized the opportunity to increase engagement with the SEMA attendees. Several important team members and executives of Brembo and RaceTechnologies were on-site for the SEMA show, providing guidance, education, and interactive experiences for guests visiting the Brembo booth. ​


 

 


Presented publicly for the first time, Brembo introduced the UPGRADE line – a solution for each level of performance. The complete UPGRADE line, tiered between SPORT, GRAN TURISMO, and PISTA, covered the front wall of the Brembo booth with 11 brake discs and 8 different colored calipers. An additional UPGRADE display was showcased in the in the middle of the booth, giving attendees an option to see a full 360-degree view of these high-performance braking systems. ​



 

 


​Interactive attractions this year featured a full racing simulator for the GRAN TURISMO 7 Simulator Challenge. Gran Turismo 7 includes the full UPGRADE line, allowing over 500 attendees to virtually test the new braking systems. Participants in the GT7 Simulator Challenge raced for two laps at the Japan High Speed Ring, attempting to record the fastest lap time. All participants experienced the premium performance braking system by using a custom edition Brembo BMW M4 equipped with the UPGRADE GT brake system. The challenge brought excitement and high energy to the Brembo booth as participants engaged in this friendly competition. Everyone participating received a Brembo keychain. The three participants who record the fastest lap times are awarded with a mini Brembo caliper trophy, custom painted gold, silver, and bronze.​



 

 

Brembo unveiled an all-new brake system for Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV) and side-by-sides at the SEMA Show. The brand new UTV kit provides premier braking performance compared to traditional factory brake system. In the UTV braking system, caliper choices vary between billet, and two-piece cast. The 4-piston aluminum brake caliper provides excellent stopping power to all four corners, far beyond the traditional UTV braking systems. ​



 

 

Thousands of performance vehicles built with the highest quality parts, spread all throughout the Las Vegas Convention center. Several of those vehicles in attendance were equipped with Brembo braking systems. Ranging from new vehicle releases, celebrity features, and award-winning vehicles, the presence of Brembo was heavily involved all week at SEMA. 


 The winning vehicle at the 2022 battle of the builders winning was built by the Ring Brothers, a completely custom 1948 Chevrolet Loadmaster named “ENYO”. The monstrous 1,010hp hot-rod was meticulously built through 10,000 labor hours and a decade in time from start to finish. The Ring Brothers incorporated a custom braking system by Brembo with front and rear GT-S 6-piston calipers and 365x34mm discs. “ENYO” will be featured on “SEMA: Battle of the Builders” Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. ET on the History channel.

​Actor, comedian, and car enthusiast Kevin Harts unveiled his new custom-built vehicle referred to as “Dark Knight” at the 2022 SEMA show. A beautiful 1987 Buick Grand National T-Top registering at 650hp. Brembo brakes were one of the many upgrades included in this masterpiece vehicle. The braking system in the build is made of GT 6 piston calipers in the front, and GT 4 piston calipers in the rear, both with drilled discs.​



 

 

​New vehicle releases are one of the many highlighted events at SEMA. This year, Nissan unveiled the new 2023 400 Z GT4, a top-tier vehicle with several race specific features. This race performance Nissan vehicle is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine creating up to 450hp. Nissan opted for a superior braking system built by Brembo which includes a 6 piston monobloc racing caliper utilizing our newest generation of load optimization design software with integrated bridge and fluid passages. Paired with a high thermal capacity 15” 2-piece floating racing assembly disc, this set-up provides professional level braking capabilities.​
