The Inferno of Dallas
Forty years ago, Texas hosted the only edition of the Dallas GP: the track was designed around the Cotton Bowl, an iconic stadium mainly used for college football. It featured several blind corners, and part of the track lacked asphalt. Braking on concrete is not the same, and some drivers complained, but eventually agreed to race. The extreme heat was a major factor, to the point where Nigel Mansell, after getting out to push his Lotus that had stopped just meters from the finish line, fainted from exhaustion.
The MVP Without Brakes
On October 22, the NBA regular season kicks off with matchups between New York and Boston, and between Minnesota and the Lakers. In the last four seasons, Nikola Jokić has claimed the MVP (Most Valuable Player) title. His size makes the Lamborghini Urus he drives to training sessions look tiny. His garage also includes an Aventador S, a Porsche Panamera 4S, and an AMG G 63 Brabus. In his homeland, he enjoys driving a lightweight two-wheeled carriage pulled by a horse. For that, Brembo brakes are not needed.
