Brembo’s new arrivals - designed for performance bikes

New Ducati models, two new Japanese Supersport motorbikes and the ByBre combined braking system for motorbikes equipped with small to medium-sized engines. Brembo has countless new products on display at the EICMA 2014

Brembo and Ducati have consolidated their long-lasting cooperation with the use of a product derived from racing on two new Ducati Superbikes which aim to be the benchmark for the new generation of sport bikes. M50, Brembo's highest performance caliper, has been choose by Ducati for its two newest and most powerful bikes, the 1299 Panigale and the Multistrada 1200S.

Both new Ducati models are also fitted with other Brembo components.

These include a fixed rear brake caliper on the 1299 Panigale and a floating one on the Multistrada 1200S, front and rear brake discs, the PR16/21radial master cylinder and PR 15/19 clutch master cylinder.

Brembo also supplies the forged wheels for the S version of 1299 Panigale.

Braking performance on the Multistrada 1200S is improved by the use of a 265mm rear brake disc with the 2x28 floating caliper.

On display at EICMA, Ducati has also chosen Brembo brakes to ensure that its new Scrambler behaves as well as it looks.

Described as "the perfect blend of tradition and modernity", this "retro inspired" bike uses a single disc brake at front and rear, relying on the use of Brembo's most advanced technologies to ensure high performance.

A four-piston caliper and 330mm floating disc with flat bell is employed at the front and a single-piston caliper and 245mm disc at the rear.

Directly from the Far East, two Japanese models fitted with very special Brembo brakes

Kawasaki's engineers turned to Brembo for the answer when they were designing the track-only 2015 Ninja H2R, which produces 300 hp from a supercharged engine, and its street-legal Ninja H2 sibling.

The entire system has been specifically designed for the H2R and H2. It includes a new sintered pad material, BRM 11G, developed in cooperation with Kawasaki for this project.

The front brake system makes use of the famous race-proven M50 caliper and employs a powerful 16/21 radial master cylinder.

It is operated by a brake lever designed exclusively for this machine. At the rear, stopping is provided by a fixed caliper with twin 32mm diameter pistons, a 15/19 radial master cylinder and a 28mm diameter, gravity die cast clutch slave cylinder body which is painted in black.

At EICMA Brembo brake components and systems also feature on Suzuki concept motorcycle: Recursion. The Suzuki's supercharged 588cc concept motorcycle has a Brembo concept front caliper. This employs a fixed six piston caliper, four pads and two independent circuits. Two 26mm diameter pistons on the front caliper are driven by the rear master cylinder, which acts simultaneously on the rear caliper, while the other pair of twin 32mm diameter pistons at the front are driven by the front master cylinder.

To restrict the overall dimensions of the front caliper, the upper radial fixing is positioned between the central pair and upper pair of twin pistons. The caliper is designed for use with a 330mm diameter, 5mm thick brake disc and is attractively finished in nickel with the Brembo logo in bas-relief.

Bybre launches a new combined braking system that greatly reduces braking distances for mopeds and motorbikes equipped with small to medium-sized engines

BYBRE, Brembo's brand developed specifically for brake systems of small and medium displacement scooters and motorcycles,  presents a completely new combined braking system. It improves rider safety by allowing the optimum use of the brakes and reducing safe stopping distances – even for the novice user.

The system consists of a floating front caliper with three 24 mm diameter pistons. The central piston is actuated by a 14mm diameter rear master cylinder with integrated tank, while the two outside pistons are driven by a 12mm diameter handlebar-mounted front master cylinder.

A special valve positioned between the rear master cylinder and the front caliper determines the pressure distribution between the front and rear calipers. It ensures that when the brake pedal is operated the rear wheel will always lock-up before the front and provides much better performance than a standard brake system.

This is an important safety feature, especially for novice riders reluctant to use the front brake fully on slippery road surfaces. This type of system will become mandatory on all scooters and bikes up to 125cc under new EU regulations that come into effect in 2016.
