Brembo @ IAA: lightness and eco-sustainability

​At IAA Brembo introduces new components for braking systems with a substantial reduction in weight in order to make the car of the future more and more efficient and the automotive industry more sustainable. At the Brembo stand a scale demonstrates the difference in weight of a new component compared with the previous version. Visitors can also see the results which the Group has obtained in this field, aimed specifically at making vehicles lighter and more "eco-friendly".
The new CCM2 carbon ceramic braking system with the Ferrari F142 ceramic pads is 10% lighter compared to the previous CCM1 with organic pads.
The Aston Martin Virage front CCM module (calliper, disk brake, bearing, hub, stub axle, ABS sensor) drops more than 30% in weight compared to the previous cast iron system.
The new Nissan GT-R carbon ceramic front system leaves 13% of its previous cast iron system behind.
