Brembo wins 3 SBK championships: Superbike, Supersport and Superstock 1000

A hat trick of SBK victories, where 3 riders equipped with Brembo braking systems are proclaimed world champions of Superbike, Supersport and Superstock 1000, three models equipped with Brembo braking systems.

In the World Superbike championship, the most prestigious of the three, factory derivative models are used, but with wide margins of enhancement. Victory went to Spaniard, Carlos Checa, from the Althea Racing Ducati team. In this category the original braking system can be entirely replaced, with the sole restriction of not being able to use carbon discs. The Ducati 1198 that Checa rides was therefore equipped with a Brembo braking system made up of 320 millimetre diameter, 6 millimetre thick discs, a 19x18 master cylinder machined from solid and callipers in lithium aluminium. The Manufacturer victory was also celebrated by the Althea Racing Ducati team, the seventeenth for the Manufacturer from Borgo Panigale and all won with Brembo braking systems.

The Supersport championship went to Chaz Davies with the Yamaha ParkinGO Team. In this category the rules allow only modifications to the discs and pads from the original system. In this case, Chaz Davies' Yamaha YZF R6 went with 310 millimetre diameter, 5.5 millimetre thick Brembo discs and Brembo Z04 pads.

Finally, Davide Giugliano, riding for the Althea Racing team, won the Superstock 1000 championship. The rules in this category are even more restrictive, allowing only marginal improvements to the original braking system such as an increase in thickness (up to a maximum of 20%) and dragging the discs and replacement of the pads. For Davide Giugliano's Ducati 1098 R, the team decided to replace only the pads in the original Brembo braking system, making the logical choice of Brembo Z04 pads.

All of the Brembo products used in the SBK championships are available for the most common Japanese and European maxi-sport models and can be purchased at Brembo Racing Points
