While many of the world’s motorsports series have just run their first race of the 2008 season within the past two weeks, the results for the Brembo-equipped teams are strikingly similar to last year when Brembo teams won:
Formula One, all three NASCAR championships, three classes of 12 Hours of le Mans, LMP1 class of American Le Mans, GT class of Rolex Grand-Am, all four classes of Le mans Endurance Series, all three classes of FIA GT, MotoGP, AMA Superbike and the Baja 1000, to name a few!
In the past two weeks, Brembo two-wheelers have won the opening round of the:
- MotoGP in Qatar (last year’s champion Casey Stoner of Ducati Marlboro Team), and
- AMA Superbike at Daytona (Mat Mladin of Suzuki Team Yoshimura).
On four wheels, Brembo-equipped teams won the LMP1 and GT2 classes in the opening round of the American Le Mans Series at the 12 Hours of Sebringwith Audi winning its ninth-straight (LMP1) victory and the Flying Lizard Porsche victorious over the GT2 field.
And in NASCAR action in Bristol, it was a clean sweep of the victory broom as the Brembo-equipped Richard Childress Racing finished 1-2-3 in the Sprint Cup race led by Jeff Burton in his #31 Chevrolet followed by teammates Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer. Bowyer was also victorious on Saturday in the Nationwide Series.
