"On the track", says Troy "the feeling with Brembo brakes has always been fantastic. Every year I could sense that the braking action was more and more effective, and you could build up a total familiarity with it. Whether it was steel discs on a Superbike, or carbon on a MotoGP (Bayliss rode in MotoGP for three seasons, 2003, 2004 and 2005, two on the Ducati Desmosedici and then one on a Honda), I never had any problems with engineers. Sure, the braking experience on a MotoGP machine is on another level, compared to a Superbike, but personally I've always preferred the feel of the Superbike brakes.
Now, Bayliss is enjoying a well-earned rest. In January he will be going back to live in Australia and next year he will also be exploring the possibility of fulfilling one last dream as a competitor. "I'd really like to race in Australia's Supercar V8 championship, preferably in a car equipped with Brembo brakes...! We'll see. I've had a long career as a rider, and changing from two wheels to four is not easy, but I really would like to give it a try". Best of luck Troy.
