Replacement of brake pads
Instruction for the replacement - fixed caliper

CAUTION

The pads must be inserted with the friction material facing the disc.


  •  G position the spring if not fixed to the pads. The spring is correctly positioned when it permits inserition of the pin(s) and when any arrows stamped on it 11 are pointing in the direction of disc rotation. Position the pin(s) 3, keeping the spring in place with your hand if necessary. Insert the pin completely using the hammer and pin driver.

The pin is correctly positioned when it cannot be driven in any further, and the sound of the hammer blow is stronger and metallic.

  • H replace the safety pins 2 (if present).
  • replace the dust boot (if present), pressing lightly.
  • gently operate the brake pedal until optimum pressure is restored to the system. Avoid brake fluid leaks from the reservoir.
  • check the level of the brake fluid in the reservoir, and replenish if necessary up to the maximum level indicated.
  • J carefully clean the diaphragm 7 of the brake fluid reservoir, removing all fluid residue.
  • reposition the diaphragm and close the cap 6 on the brake fluid reservoir.
  • run in the pads.

CAUTION

After installing new pads, keep in mind that braking effectivenes might be somewhat reduced during the first brake applications. Therefore, you should:

-reduce speed

-avoid sudden, continuous, or excessive braking.
