NOTE
If you do not have enough room to remove and replace tha pads, remove the calipers from the motorcycle. Do not bend the caliper brake fluid inlet hose.
- find the brake fluid reservoir.
- C open the cap 6 and remove the diaphragm 7 on the reservoir.
CAUTION
Perform the step described below the caution, making sure that the level of fluid in the reservoir is moderate. If necessary drain some of the fluid. Use paper to block any leak.
The retraction of the pistons can cause brake fluid to spurt out of the reservoir. The brake fluid should not come in contacts with parts which might be damaged by it (painted parts in particular).
Avoid damage to the piston. Do not touch its surface with the tool.
- D carefully move the pistons back 8 with a retractor or other suitable tool.
- E clean the pad support surface 9 using suitable materials and products. A damp cloth is probably enough.
CAUTION
Do not use products that could damage the gaskets, such as nitro-perchlor thinner, gasoline, trichloroethylene, or other such minerals solvents.
- F insert the new pads 10. Make sure they can move freely, and that they are correctly positioned in their housing (if present).
