CAUTION
Because the braking system is a safety component, personnel performing any type of replacement or maintenance must be competent and qualified.
Before beginning the replacement procedure:
- check that spare parts used for replacement are suitable for the make and model of the vehicle;
- look at the groups of fiugures and identify the one that is most similar to the model of vehicle and the replacement part.

CAUTION
During all the operations described below, the caliper brake fluid inlet hose must NOT be disconnected.
- AI remove the dust boot 1 (if present) with a screwdriver.
- A remove the safety pins 2 (if present) on the pin or pins, using a pair of pliers.
- B remove the guide pin or pins 3. If necessary, use a hammer and pin driver. Remove the spring 4, if not fixed to the pads, and the worn pads 5.
NOTE
In some models the spring is attached to the pads. Remove and replace it along with the pads.
